By the numbers: A summer recap
The “Morning Eagle” from the base of Grinnell Glacier at Glacier National Park
Yes, we’re quite late on this post considering the trip officially ended nearly 10 days ago, BUT better late than never, right? Well, we hope so.
This summer has been hard to put into words, so we’re going to rely on lists and numbers…
BY THE NUMBERS!
Total nights on trip: 42

Just got home from a great Ohio wedding. Another few days in Canton before I become a permanent resident of North Carolina! Pretty excited
First full day of nothingness since May…and it feels so good!

106 degree heat index in Daytona. I’m plotting the financials of opening a bar with my dad, @MikeRuggieri as mgr, @clairbaxter as bartender

Looking out over Daytona Beach from the 16th floor of Peck Plaza… I’m definitely not getting tired of this summer
No longer a stranger in NC
Its 12:33 in the morning and we just entered the state of North Carolina. No longer is our license plate unique!
One more time zone and we’re back on the east coast!
Hit Rock Bottom in Minneapolis
We stopped in Minneapolis for dinner last tonight and met up with Chris’ Poynter colleague Chris Olwell. Big ups to Chris for making it downtown late on a Sunday to meet us for a beer at Rock Bottom Brewery. Really enjoyed Minneapolis- another big city we’ve driven through that we’re really impressed with. After spending the night in Eau Claire, WI we are off to Chicago. ETA: 12...

On the way to Jackson Hole! (the only thing I know about it is that it’s the place Mr Feeney retired to)
Been driving for waaay to long through Montana…its beautiful but too dang big!
A long drive across the plains
Our last night in Glacier was soggy and cold. At 40 degrees - with 30 mph sustained wind gusts and rain - the conditions may have been our worst all trip. Our pop-up tent saved us again as we managed to stay (mostly) dry. We’re now driving to Yellowstone to stay there for a few days. I think in our first hour and a half on the road we’ve passed 5 cars. Montana is a big state!
Just ate some Pegasus Pizza in Eugene, Oregon… Must admit, VERY impressed with the city of Eugene and the U of Oregon
California -> Oregon -> Washington
We saw a baby bear this morning! By far the most exciting wildlife we have seen, it ran right out in front of the car to cross into the woods. Redwood was a quick stop but a real treat. A permit-only hike through Tall Tree Grove gave some incredible up close views of the largest trees in the world, and a picnic on the Pacific really helped accentuate the diversity of the park. After a week long...
Hanging out in downtown Arcada, CA on this chilly Friday night. The vintage shops, bar scene, young college crowd and lively small town vibe are making us homesick for Boone.
Just drove by the Full House house…and yes I Youtubed the intro so I could hear the theme song…wish I could have watched Wake Up San Francisco this morning with Danny Tanner and Rebecca Donaldson.
"If you're going to San Francisco..."
Though Chris has spent the last 12 hours trying to forget Lebron James’ impact on his life, we actually had a pretty good day in San Fran yesterday. We got to see some parts of the city we would have never seen thanks to Chris’s friend Jeff Enlow who was kind enough to give us a city tour. We were pretty surprised with how cold it was last night, though! We’re going down to the...
